ABOUT THE WINERY: For five centuries, the family behind La Passione Segreta has been making wine in the area around Leverano, in the heart of Salento in Puglia. The family has always practiced agriculture with a lot of attention and respect for nature. At the beginning of the 20th century they made a complete switch to viticulture. At La Passione Segreta they mainly work with the indigenous Negroamaro, Primitivo, Malvasia Nera and Malvasia Bianca grapes, but also with non-indigenous varieties that are suitable for the Salento area. The four family domains Cantalupi, Donna Marzia, Saraceno and Santo Stefano are the four pillars that make Conti Zecca so unique.

VINEYARD AND REGION: Salento mainly produces red wine, made from two types of grapes. The most famous is Primitivo, the same grape as Californian Zinfandel. The Primitivo di Manduria is the most important DOC in this species. The Primitivo wines are usually made from only this grape variety.

ODOR: On the nose aromas of stewed red and dark fruit, wood and vanilla.

TASTE: The taste again features red fruit, such as cherries, and is supplemented with balanced acidity.

SERVE WITH: Delicious with grilled meat and rich pasta dishes.
