Texas-Style Brisket
Delicious recipe for an unforgettable Brisket. You can also choose to inject the Brisket in advance.

Ingredients

4 tablespoons chili powder
4 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoon garlic powder
2 tablespoon onion powder
2 tablespoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoon sugar
4 teaspoons dry mustard
2 bay leaves, crushed
1 Brisket in this recipe we use a Whole Packer Brisket of approx. 6-7 kilos
3 cups beef or calf broth

Preparation

1) Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius.
2) Make a dry rub by combining chili powder, salt, garlic, onion powder, black pepper, sugar, dry mustard, and bay leaf.
3) Trim the Brisket by removing thick amounts of fat. Leave some fat on. Rub the Brisket with the dry rub.
4) Put the Brisket in a large roasting pan and cover it with foil. Cook for an hour and then remove the Brisket.
5) Set the oven back to 140 degrees Celsius.
6) Add the broth and put everything back in the oven, covered. Then cook until the meat is tender. Consider about 3 hours of cooking.
7) Remove the Brisket from the oven and cut nice, thick slices. Pour some gravy over the meat while serving.
