VINEYARD NAME: Camestri - Renesio
LOCATION AND GEOGRAPHIC SITUATION: in the municipality of Vezza d'Alba the soil is exposed to the south/east, in the municipality of Canale it is exposed to the south
SOIL: calcareous, sandy
GRAPE VARIETY: 100% Favorite
YIELD PER HECTARE: 100 quintals of grapes
TRAINING METHOD: Guyot contra-espalier with fruit head of 7-9 buds
HARVEST DATE: first ten days of September. The harvest is done by hand in perforated plastic boxes of 20 kg.
WINE MAKING METHOD: Crushing and gentle pressing of the grapes with short maceration. The alcoholic fermentation then takes place at a controlled temperature of 20 degrees in stainless steel tanks for 20 days. After fermentation, the wine continues to mature on the lees ('sur lie'). This softens the wine and gives the wine extra structure.
ABOUT THE WINERY: In the heart of the Langhe lie the beautiful, steep vineyards of Marco Porello. There Marco makes a very wide range of wines, from Moscato to Nebbiolo, and from Barbera to Arneis. Finally, he has a small vineyard with the Vermentino grape variety, which is known in Piedmont as Favorita. All wines that typify the diversity of Piedmont and are very representative of what the area has to offer.
