About the Winery
What once began as a festive occasion in 1996, where three barrels of grapes were stomped with feet, led to the establishment of the first micro-winery in the Western Cape in 1997, with a focus on Pinot Noir. In 2007, when Catherine Marshall's wines were marketed worldwide, she decided to shift her attention to Elgin. In this cool climate, both white and red wines are produced, characterized by a fresh and aromatic style.
Catherine Marshall Wines is the first wine range in South Africa named after a female winemaker.
Vineyard and Region
The grapes come from the Elgin Valley.
Aroma
The nose presents fresh aromas of citrus and stone fruit, such as ripe nectarine.
Flavor
The flavor reflects the citrus fruits, complemented by pomegranate. Fine acidity provides a refreshing and pleasant glass.
Pairing
Delicious as an aperitif, with goat cheese and salads.
