This farm cheese is made from thermized cow's milk with the addition of spicy chili peppers. The cheese is then smoked and aged for 8 weeks, making it wonderfully creamy. It’s perfect for a charcuterie board or just as a snack in between meals.
The cheese comes from the Verweij family farm in Polsbroek. The three brothers took over the farm from their parents in 2009, but they still step in whenever needed. It’s truly a family business where knowledge has been passed down through the years.
On the farm, there are on average 400 cows that are milked every day. The cows spend as much time as possible outside in the meadow, and every day, cheese is made from the milk. In addition to this Herb Cheese with Smoked Chili, the Verweij family also makes Truffle Herb Cheese, Villa Truffo, and Villa Segreto.
